Pete's interest in tattooing started in the 80s, greatly influenced by the punk/metal scene and bands. He met Mad Jack and Willie Perry at age 15 and started hanging out at Jack's studio (Golden Dragon). Willie then opened Tropical Tattoo in Ormond Beach, FL in 1990 while he was doing a 4-year stint in the army. He would come home on leave and spend all his free time hanging out there. When he got out in 1994, he was offered an apprenticeship and started taking art classes at the college. He's been tattooing ever since.
